Community Organizing
Community organizing is not possible without immersion and active engagement with citizens.
Experience includes involvement in community organizing since a youth: supporting streetwork with the homeless, founding member of CIRDIC in Reading UK, engaging in study circles and popular education, seeking sustained dialogue, encouraging active citizenship and most recently, collaborating to promote to large-scale community organizing.
Social Enterprise
As an Ashoka Fellow, support for the transformation of citizen-based organizations to social enterprises has a special focus. A history of supporting social enterprises such as CIRDIC, Nkululeku Street Co-operative, Emerging Market Services, Addicted 2 Business, Afrenaus Co-operative College, The Prieska Protocol, Ethical Gems and Spaarsaam.
Small Towns
The work in transforming small towns (4,000-100,000 citizens) is a crucial part of our broader social transformation. A record of work in 15 small towns since 2010, collaborating with GiZ, the Afrikaanse Handels Instituut , The PEACE Foundation and The Seriti Institute, who also focus on small towns transformation.
