Check out the ten point list below to see if your organization is ready to receive funds:

1. Strong institutional leadership - is it still struggling with founder's syndrome?
2. A mature philanthropic culture - Do you have a variety of fund-raising sources
   
3. A strong public image -Are you top of mind with your audience?
   
4. A history of financial and volunteer support - Do your staff, volunteers and board members donate to the organization regularly?
   
5. An understanding of the resources needed for success - Do you know exactly how much you need and what it will cost to get it?
6. A structure and infrastructure - Do you have the organizational capacity to raise funds?
7. A set of fundraising policies and procedures - Have your policies and procedures been written and are they approved by your board?
   
8. A well defined approach to managing donors and donor accounts - Do you have a procedure to steward donors and ensure the money they donate goes to the cause they want?
9. An integrated team to drive fund-raising campaigns - Is just one person doing fund-raising or is there a team which includes at least one board member?
10. A strong vision, mission and strategy - Is there a plan? Does it include the need to raise or diversify funds?
    

If you have all ten of these, your organization is assured of success in fundraising.
